Maureen Cannon

Maureen Cannon is an esteemed education professional with over two decades of experience in enrollment management, admissions recruitment, and retention strategies. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English and History from Notre Dame of Maryland University in 1996.

Maureen Cannon joins the West Nottingham community as the Director of Enrollment. Prior to coming to WNA, she worked at Notre Dame Preparatory School for 16 years. For 11 years she served as director of enrollment where she consistently increased enrollment. Prior to NDP, she served as assistant director of Baltimore Collegetown Network working with area colleges and universities to recruit students and showcase Baltimore as a college town.

Maureen’s tenure began at NDMU where she engaged in various extracurricular activities, including serving as a Sportswriter and Editor of the school newspaper. She also undertook internships at The Baltimore Sun and the Loyola College Sports Information Office, honing her skills in media and communications.

Maureen Cannon’s commitment to educational advancement and her proven track record of achieving results have solidified her reputation as a leader in the field of enrollment management.

Kacey Michelsen

Kacey Michelsen (’99) grew up immersed in the culture of WNA, where his parents served as distinguished faculty members. A multi-talented individual, he excelled as a student, athlete, actor, and artist during his four years at WNA. After pursuing further education and gaining extensive experience in independent schools, he returned to WNA in 2021 as the Director of Admission, embodying the institution’s values of lifelong learning and adventure.

In his role, Kacey oversees admissions processes, teaches various humanities subjects, coaches sports teams, and contributes to alumni and community relations. With a rich background in curriculum development and instructional design, he brings a wealth of expertise to his multifaceted responsibilities. Notably, he played a pivotal role in establishing significant wrestling tournaments and fostering successful teams during his tenure at other institutions.

Kacey’s passion for education and his dedication to WNA’s ethos make him a valuable asset to the school community. He is honored to return to the campus that shaped him and looks forward to continuing his parents’ legacy while creating his own impact on future generations.

Akiko Brownstein

In conjunction of being the Director of International Programming and ESL, I am the Assistant Director of the admission team to bring in students to West Nottingham Academy.

The job consists of reviewing applications, giving prospective students and families the tour of school, conducting interviews, organizing and running ESL program, providing comfort and confidence in the families who are sending their precious child to WNA. I am also a dorm parent and coach.
