Since well before the days of “Shoeless” Joe Jackson or Babe Ruth, (ask your grandparents), West Nottingham students have taken to the athletic fields and courts; competing at a high level, winning games, collecting trophies, and most importantly, establishing a long tradition of sportsmanship which continues today.
Becoming a Ram, (yes, we’re the Rams), means you will not only have a chance to participate but also to win. Whether you want to try tennis or basketball for the first time, or take your soccer skills to the next level or become a great point guard, you will have plenty of opportunities.
We welcome all athletes at their individual level of ability and help them reach their goals. At the same time, competition is definitely not something we leave on the back burner. Most WNA teams are consistently competitive, often in the hunt for conference titles and championships. This is especially true when it comes to our pillar sports. (For other sports like, say, spinning plates on a stick, we are somewhat less competitive – probably a good thing.)
Go Rams! WNA athletic facilities include several dedicated practice and game fields for soccer, lacrosse, baseball, and softball. Ware Field House serves as home to our basketball and wrestling teams.
In recent years West Nottingham Academy has strengthened its athletic program with improved facilities and an expanded array of sports and activities offered throughout the school year.
