Student Life Fellow

Ryan joined the WNA staff as student life and athletics fellow in August of 2021.  He will also serve in the role of assistant prep basketball coach, as well as the coach for advanced strength and conditioning for the coming year.   

A native of North Georgia, Ryan attended Western Carolina University for his undergraduate studies.  At Western Carolina, he majored in history and picked up minors in geography, international studies, and political science.  He also served as student assistant for the men’s basketball team during his time in Cullowhee under Coach Larry Hunter.   

Upon his graduation, Ryan moved to Enterprise, Alabama to teach high school social studies and coach basketball at Enterprise High School. During Ryan’s tenure the team made it to the elite 8 of the Alabama State playoffs in the Alabama class 7a division, the highest division for the state’s athletics.   

Ryan’s next stop was Mount Pleasant, Michigan to join the staff of Coach Keno Davis at Central Michigan University as a Graduate Assistant.  During his second stint in NCAA Division I Basketball, Ryan kept practice and game stats, helped develop scouting reports, assisted in running day to day operations, liaised with the academic department, and worked with players on skill development.   

Ryan is currently completing his master’s degree in Administration with a concentration in Leadership at Central Michigan University.
