Len Armstrong joined WNA as the Associate Head of School in July of 2020. He is a graduate of St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School, where he returned after college to begin his twenty-year independent school career. Working initially as assistant director of admissions, teacher, and coach, Len gained extensive experience leading schools in myriad capacities. He has filled such roles as Director of Admissions for Middle and Upper Schools at St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School to Assistant Head of School for Enrollment, Admissions, and Community, as well as Lower School Head at Landon School to a Head of School tenure at St. John’s Episcopal School, where he was responsible for the addition of its primary program.
Len has maintained an accomplished career in education built on hardwork, integrity, and compassion. Len is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College where he double-majored in English Literature and Spanish Composition. He has served on the advisory boards of the Center for Teaching and Learning and The Bishop Walker School for Boys, as well as the Admissions Advisory Committee of the Association of Independent Schools of Greater Washington. Upon Len’s departure from Landon School, he was honored by the school’s alumni association “for outstanding service toward building a multicultural Landon.”
