Girls Varsity Basketball Results

December 9th vs. FCA

This was the first league match of the season for the girl’s varsity basketball team. It came away to FCA where the team struggled at first to maintain composure in the face of a stiff test from FCA. Ultimately, despite the loss, the team continues to improve dramatically with each game that is played. The fourth quarter of this game in particular was a true sign of improvement, as the team managed to score more points than the opposition in that quarter. Overall the team continues to grow with only one more game to play ahead of the Winter break period.

December 3rd vs. Gunston – Greenwood Mennonite Tip Off Tournament

This game was played for third place in the tournament overall. It was a learning experience for everyone involved as the girl’s varsity team came up against a very experienced team. The result was a loss but the learning experiences and growth that took place were invaluable for a team brimming with untapped potential. The team was led by captains Jenniah Odige and Kalea Epitime and the learning process continues.

December 2nd vs. Chestertown- Greenwood Mennonite Tip Off Tournament

This being the first game of the season, and first game ever for many of the players, the girl’s varsity basketball team entered the game with the mindset of constant improvement. The game ultimately went down to the wire, with the female Rams losing by two points, 26-28. It was a very close game that was not decided until the very last seconds. Jenniah Odige amazed by scoring 22 points in the game.
